The Hyena Family pin collection Pre-order store

What is this? I recently ran a successfull crowdfunding campaign for pin designs of all four hyena species, and many other different wild animals. The campaign has ended, but this pre-order store is an opportunity for those who missed out to still pre-order any of the items that got funded by the campaign. How does it work? All new designs are available as hard enamel pins, and as waterproof stickers. There are also iron-on patches, stickersheets and prints, of both brand new and older designs. In addition, there are still several 'bonus stretch goals'. If the required minimum amount gets ordered, it will get made! If not, those who bought that item will get it refunded. The store will remain open until around mid to end of April. Payment and shipping Payment can only be done via credit card. Since this is a pre-order store, the shipping will get charged at a later point. Costs and fees for international mail are currently constantly fluctuating. Once the products are ready to ship, the best possible shipping methods and rates will get used. All orders are either being shipped from the EU (Netherlands or Austria) or from NY USA. I am located in the EU, but am working together with a partner-campaign in the US. Orders to the US, Canada and Mexico will get prepared by me, and then get sent via New York. The rates will be a bit higher than on EU orders, but you will not get hit by any unexpected US tariffs. Shipments that only contain stickers and prints can be sent directly by me as letter mail. Stretch goal designs

Hi all!

Let's talk about the stretch goals!
Quite a few of you have voted in both backer polls so far. It looks like the first two single pins will be the maned wolf and the fossa!

I will lock the first winners down shortly, so I can work on the rough designs, and I'll also be adding some new stretch goals, so more of the runner ups can be made. I personally really want to make that binturong!

I started liking the idea of having full body pins to match the portraits like we will with the hyenas. I'll try to make that happen for the single pins that already got unlocked.

If you're interested in these, updating your pledge or adding add-ons for more pins will help to make them a reality!
There are also still pledge slots to skip the polls and get your favorite species made regardless of what stretch goals get unlocked.



I fleshed out the fossa pin(s) a little bit, mainly to see how many colors I'd use. I might still change things around a bit!



To my surprise and delight, for the pin sets the lemurs are in the lead!! (Those of you who know me know I adore all wild animals, but lemurs have an extra special place in my heart.)



With lemurs it's so hard to pick! There are well over 100 species, and about half of those are my favorite animals. But here's a super rough sketch idea of some crowned lemurs!



Can we put two individuals in one portait pin? Yes, I make the rules!

The brown lemur species display sexual dimorphism, meaning the males look different from the females. With crowned lemurs the females are grey with an orange diademe, and the males are entirely orange/brown with a little black cap and fluffy cheeks. And they both have these adorable white face masks with a little black snoot!

For now I imagine sets of four pins, though I can very much imagine I'd make many more lemurs over time.
I just had a long flight back home from the US and scribbled these... somewhat recognisable lemurs from memory. These could be an option! As much as I love ring-tailed lemurs (my main OC is one!), I'd love to represent some that you see less art and merch of, even though these four are still among the better known species.



These are the golden bamboo lemur, aye-aye, crowned lemurs and an indri.

Funding totals

You might have noticed that our total of raised funds just went down a significant amount. Some pledges always get canceled, and in this case it was a huge pledge (for getting a brown hyena plush produced).
Of course, someone else is more than welcome to take that slot now that it opened up again, but please make sure you spend responsibly!

I did keep in mind that this could happen when announcing any unlocked stretch goals, so everything listed on the page is still unlocked!

If you read this right as I send it, you have FIVE MINUTES left to get the early bird pin! It's gone after that!

New ways to pledge

I wanted to let you know that I've added two new pledge tiers that people have asked me for.

First is the LETTER MAIL TIER.
This tier is for one sticker or card of choice, and will allow you to pick any add-on that can be shipped via letter mail.
This means worldwide shipping remains under 5 euro, but no insurance or tracking is available.
This one is UK friendly, I can ship it anywhere! If you're in the UK and would really like to get pins, as of now the best solution is to ask a friend abroad if you can ship it to them.
This tier is NOT eligible to receive the early bird incentive pin.
This tier IS eligible to receive the Pin Safari polaroid sticker, as long as two other projects from this banner have their requirements met.

Next is the PATCH TIER.
This one is simple: You pledge for a patch rather than a pin.

Poll update

Currently, in the lead for the single pins are the maned wolf and the thylacine, and for the pin portrait sets it's the African canids and the megabats!
Want something else? Vote in my previous update or pledge for one of the custom pin tiers!

Wow, we got funded in under an hour, and got all main stretch goals unlocked! Thank you all so much!

Because the full body hyena pins and patches got unlocked, there are now more options available for both the pledge levels and add-ons!
If you don't know what to choose yet, don't worry, you can still change or add to your pledge later.
Do pledge in the next 32 hours though if you want to receive the Early Bird pin, it won't be available anymore after that!


With backer-voted stretch goals unlocked it's time to VOTE!

Since it's so hard to just pick just one option, I made two ranked voting polls., one for single pins and for pin sets!
Ranked voting works by selecting multiple options and putting them in your order of preference, rather than just having to pick one. That way, if your number one choice doesn't make it, your vote will still help your number two. You can remove the options you're not interested in.

I already posted a poll on this page yesterday, but hopefully this ranked version will be easier to choose with!
There's also an option to add other options, though the ones I've already listed and made rough sketches probably have a better chance of getting picked.

More pin options
At this time at least one of the slots for a custom pin has been claimed, and I will update you with the species and rough design once it's ready! These custom pins will be available for any backer to buy as part of a pledge or add-on.

It looks like we might be getting a plushie too, and though that's a long process I'll keep you posted on how that progresses.

UK shipping
I received sereral questions about backing from the within the UK.
Sadly, shipping to the UK often ends up being far more complex than to other countries, so I can't offer it unless I know for sure I can actually deliver. Your best option is to ask a friend from a nearby country to receive your order for you. I'm very sorry to disappoint people, and will update you if the situation changes!
Right now, you CAN have stickers and cards, which are available as add-ons, to the UK as letter mail.. To access these add ons you need to pledge for at least the lowest level though, I will work on making a pledge level for a single sticker, so just buying stickers becomes an option.

Hi all!

There's less than a week left until the start of Pintopia 2026, and my campaign!
I won't spam you with too many reminders, but since you can ONLY get the snoozing spotted hyena pin (for free!) by pledging within the first 48 hours, I'm sending another reminder to sign up.

Here are a few things I wanted to share with you!

Samples!

The first samples of some of the main designs have been made and will be on their way to me soon, so I can judge the colors in real life.
Here's a first look at factory photos of the striped hyena pin in both its black nickel and gold form!



Custom species pins

If we make it to the stretch goals, pins of more species will be unlocked, and everyone will get to vote on which ones they should be.
However, there will be a few exclusive pledge slots available where YOU get to have your favorite made no matter what!
These slots are very limited, so if you're interested, do have a look right at the launch of the campaign, since I don't know if these would sell out quickly.

Pin Safari


For the first time this year Pintopia has banners for sub-genres, where multiple campaigns with a similar theme team up.
Our banner is called Pin Safari, and if you back three or more campaigns from this group you'll receive matching 'polaroid' stickers from each one you backed! Mine, of course, features the hyena family.


Bonus goal: Stickersheets

If we reach 250 backers, I will make a stickersheet with all the hyenas, and every backer with a pledge of two pins or more will get a hyena stickersheet for free!
